Come help out at the Road Runners Club of America's 52nd National Convention, April 21-25, 2010 in Lakeland, Florida. Meet runners from around the nation. Your help will ensure that attendees will have had a memorable experience. Volunteers are needed for a minimum of 4.5 hour shift. In return, volunteers get a volunteer shirt, refreshments, and to attend the seminars for the remainder of the day.
The type of volunteer positions available are:

Floor hosts
|
Responsible for directing convention attendees to desired locations
including activities outside of convention; ability to provide information about
the convention and local attractions in the area; ensure access to convention
attendees only.

Seminar Hosts
|
Ensure that meeting room at hotel is set up/configured properly for
meeting, and that all audio/visual and other equipment needed is on hand.
Verifies that all seminar attendees are attending the correct seminar/time.
Familiarizes self with names/titles of seminar speakers and the topic of the
seminar. Introduces seminar speakers to assembled group. May take on duties of
floor hosts.

T-shirt and Goody Bag Distribution
|
Responsible for distributing materials to convention
attendees; ability to provide information about the convention and local
attractions in the area; may require physical work.

Registration
|
Responsible for checking in convention attendees and ensuring that
attendees received their order of tickets to activities; may need to handle cash
and to handle credit card transactions; ability to provide information about the
convention and local attractions in the area; computer skills a
plus.

Preparation
|
Responsible for putting together goody bags; making signs; helping to set
up expo; decorating tables & rooms for convention activities. The time
commitment for this position is done in the week prior to the
convention.

Information/ Volunteer Booth
|
Check in volunteers. Provide information about San Francisco,
its attractions, convention info. Run information/errands to seminar speakers,
RRCA officers, and convention organizers.

Auction
|
Display
auction items and keep watch over them. Answer questions about items and
convention. Handle monetary transactions.
