race for the convention. Convention attendees and members of the host

The Presidio 10K will host the
2009 RRCA Western Regional 10K Championship and the Presidio 10 mile race
will be the California state championship for that distance.Plaques will be awarded to the top open male and
female, master male and female, and grand master male and female in both
races.
Scenic Course...
The Presidio 10 has been touted as one of the most
scenic courses in the U.S. It is one of the few races that takes
you across both sides of the Golden Gate Bridge. Plus run along
the Golden Gate Promenade and through parts of the historic
Presidio.
Hospitality at the Highest Level…
Activities start Saturday, March 28 with the RRCA
Convention Expo and bib pick-up at the Hyatt Fisherman's Wharf. Sunday
morning is the race and the honorary starter will be Olympic Marathon champion
Frank Shorter, who will also run the 10K. The post-race Expo and Party
will feature live entertainment, breakfast burritos and pancakes, and adult
liquid refreshments.
Support at the Highest Level…
Both the 10K and 10
Mile race will be fully supported with aid stations at frequent intervals.
The aid stations will offer water, a sports drink, and Clif Shot
bloks.
Help Support a Worthy Cause…
The Presidio 10 is put on
by "The Guardsmen" a San Francisco based non-profit service organization.
Race proceeds support its efforts to providing disadvantaged youth an
opportunity to participate in camping, educational and other culturally
enriching opportunities that they otherwise would not be afforded. In
addition, the race benefits the Ashlyn Dyer Foundation for Neurological research
and support.
