52nd Annual RRCA National Convention

RUNNING FUN IN THE SUN

 About San Francisco

If your travel plans allow you to spend extra time in San Francisco before or after the convention, or if you will be traveling with family/friends who may not be attending the convention, there is a wide range of sightseeing activities available in the Bay Area.

Activities have been sorted according to category, and links provided to individual sights/attractions.

Some activities are within easy walking distance of the convention hotel.  For others, you will need to drive (if renting a car) or use public transportation.

We hope that you enjoy your stay in San Francisco, and can take some time to visit at least a few of its many attractions!

cable car

Public transportation:  the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (aka MUNI) can take you virtually anywhere in San Francisco.  To plan your trip, visit their website at       http://www.sfmta.com/cms/home/sfmta.php  and click on Plan a trip (at 511.org).  The site will tell you what bus line to take, provide schedules, and advise of the correct fare.  If your travels take you beyond the city limits, 511.org will also advise you of additional forms of public transportation available (i.e. ferries, trains, etc.)

Lombard street

Driving directions:  we recommend the use of Google Maps (http://maps.google.com) to obtain driving directions from the convention hotel.  Use  555 North Point Street, San Francisco CA 94133 as the starting address for your trip.  Additionally, most of the attraction websites will provide a link for driving directions to their location.
